iPhone 4s IOS 5.1.1 Update Bug (Volume Control | Ringer | Text Alerts Not Working)

Since upgrading my iPhone 4s to IOS 5.1.1 I no longer get text alerts. After messing about with the handset its also affecting -

When the volume buttons are pressed on the home screen i get “ringer” and the speaker symbol appear but nothing more (ie. +/- volume)
When playing back from iTunes with no headphones in, I get nothing through the internal speakers, nor do the volume buttons work, nor is the volume slider visable.
When i playback Youtube content with no headphones in, I get nothing through the internal speakers, nor do the volume buttons work, nor is the volume slider visable.
With headphones plugged in sound is audible and volume buttons work.
Whilst using voicemail, (no headphones connected) i can play the message through the speakers and control volume using side buttons.

SOTI MobiControl | Force a DATA GPRS, 3G connection on reset – Windows Mobile Device

If your using SOTI and would like your Windows Mobile Device to force a data connection on a reset you can create a short file in the start-up menu as follows. This will force a connection on a reset.

This was originally used as a work around when the SOTI client wouldn’t create the initial connect straight away on a reset.

(1) Open note pad

(2) Paste the following – 50#\windows\startup\commloader.exe -connect -connmgr -inet

(3) save the file as a (.LNK) file type
